Welcome Year 2!

Happy Spring everyone!! The sun is here at last and is certainly is a welcome sight!!

We have been working hard on our ‘Tadpole’s Promise’ topic and we have produced some lovely work in our books. We also have created some beautiful displays, which you are more than welcome to come and look at as the children are very proud of their work. During the last two weeks of this half term we are going to be looking at ‘Spring Traditions’ with a focus on Easter. The children have shown a great interest in the Bible stories we have read so far and have enjoyed sharing their Bibles from home. We will also be getting outside and getting some gardening done on our flower bed and in the allotment but we will let your child know when it is their turn by sending them home with a reminder sticker which will let you know what they need.

After Easter we will be starting our new topic which will be ‘Space’ and should be lots of fun as we will be getting creative by designing Space buggies.

We are looking forward to a visit by an African cultural group in May and we are also planning a trip to a farm with support from the Co-op.

PE will continue to be on a Monday and Thursday.

Here’s to another fantastic term!

Homework

Homework is given out on a Thursday or Friday and is due in by the following Tuesday. Our aim is to make homework as enjoyable for you and your child as possible.

Homework is set as objectives and it is up to your child to show they understand the objectives in whatever way they choose. They should aim to make their work as creative and attractive as possible and it should use no more than a double page spread.

We have had some fantastic homework handed in since we started doing homework in this way so thank you to parents for your support at home.

We also ask that you continue to read with your child on a regular basis and record it in the home school link book.
